Drawing Paradise

I have a feeling it would be possible to take advantage of this fabulous constelation of people to think about the most exquisite frame of work.
I mean: what would be the perfect context to work on contemporary performance arts in Europe?
Regular meetings would be a starting point to discuss ideas:
1. which kind of context? its population, its economy, its politics.
2. which kind of activities? their nature, objectives, dynamics.
Continuous, personal or collective, work would be necessary, not only to feed the discussions, but also to produce:
1. texts.
2. plannings.
3.stratagies.
So, maybe it is productive to have one initial meeting to clarify the task, followed by work sessions that would produce first proposals, to be discussed and clarified in following discussions and to be improved in following work, so that a cummulative process of material production takes place.
In the end we would have produced a composed draft of what such a place would be.

To be continued.

Contemporary Dancers – Rolemodels of Self-exploitation

Dabei möchten wir verschiedene Formate ausprobieren, u.a.

Which circumstances shape artistic work and how does it effect our lifes?
This question is our starting point for a critical reflection on the internalisation of working constraints and selfexploitation within the current socioeconomical reality. What is our position in this situation as contemporary dancers?

The discussion will be based on key concepts like Precarity, Postfordism, Creative Industries, ... which we want to compile together. Further we seek the excange with all guest of the forum. Different formats, e.g. reading, movies and discussions, should be tried out.
We understand ourselves only as moderators as seek for a communal education space without hierarchies.
The operation and concrete contents will be designed by all participants. At the moment we think of meeting twice a week for three hours. Possible topics and sources are Gabriele Klein, Haroun Farouki, Malmoe, Mayday Europe, Die Glücklichen Arbeitslosen, Practicable, Everybodys Toolbox, etc.

We look forward to your participation, questions, advices and inspiration!

Around and About

So, here we go.

We are many.

Many will be a central condition.

In the many, some will come and some will go.

This means that the actions taken by the many will be another centrality.

These actions will be multiple. Some will come and some will go.

The many will be commited in continue on going.

This commitment will produce a continuity that will host the ephemeral.

Both, continuity and the ephemeral, will nourish through the consistency of this commitment.

If commitment is substance, knowledge is form.

Knowledge is produced by the many through its very enunciation.

The ways by which this enunciation is performed will determine the public space.

Public is also one of the centralities of this event.

The event is the public action of the many.

The event is the communal performance of knowledge.

Enunciation will be 0, almost 1, or many.

It will start in the many, tending to 1 (never getting there), while 0 will be performed as a parallel possibility.

0 is silence.

Many is the multiplicity of egos nourishing the conditions for their voice to exist.

1 is universal love.

0 is to be cherished.

1 is to be praised.

The many is our battle field.

Knowledge our strategic tools.

Tools are going to constitute the body of the actions.

Tools will frame the speech. Maybe, even, to narrow the language.

Tools are there to be tested, putted at stake.

Tools will create the law within the public.

Tools are the public.

The public is we.

We are the many.

in need of a beginning

so, we are hosting a forum/ an open platform...a four week period to step outside of the usual circuits and dispositives of the programme and to bring together a short term community that jointly determines the conditions of dialogue, play, trying things out...an ani-format format...an incubator of knowledge and un-knowledge...a means to escape the regular curriculum logic and re-evaluate / re-consider...quite simply, what happens is what we make of it...
